About Us

We are a family of backpackers that live in the deep South; close to Baton Rouge, LA to be precise. Usually, it is myself and my wife on our backpacking excursions. However, on occasion my oldest son has joined and my two youngest children (pictured at right) are becoming more active backpackers.

Backpacking is a great way for a family to spend time together. It combines all the elements that make for quality family time: Time away from the electronic world we live in (phones, T.V., video games, etc).
Hard work toward a common goal.
Meals spent together and with everyone participating in their creation.
And good old conversation (a campfire is an invaluable tool to stimulate children to talk).

We frequently invite others to backpack with us, as well as meet
with friends from across the South to backpack trails all around the
South. This is not an activity that everyone will enjoy, but it has
become our passion.
